This is the story of Jay, a little girl whose stork had the wrong address when delivering her. She is taken care of by a sweet lady, but her journey to find her real parents soon starts.
Adoption is rarely easy (I say rarely so I don’t use the word never). For the cases when the child spends some time in the system before getting to their family, the road is even harder. This is what I had in mind when I envisioned this book.
As we are also down this road of adopting our children, I wanted to have a book to explain that every family is created differently. The road might be different for each, but it is not without obstacles.
I imagine this book being read to the kids with extra explanations: tell them their journey, what their road was like, what was your road like. Because the Family Mountain is exactly that, the moment when you met each other. And it was an adventure to get there. And adventures have both good and bad parts. But that is what got you together, so it was worth it.
